A globally mobile executive household does not require the same infrastructure as a privately held family business. A highly visible public household may require a different level of discretion and continuity. Sovereign, royal and internationally protected households may operate within an entirely different environment.

For that reason, HSBHAPG does not begin by asking families to shop through a public list of memberships. We begin by understanding your household. Your Private Household Profile\u2122 allows us to identify the HSBHAPG consortium environments designed for families with circumstances similar to yours.

Your responses are treated with discretion. You are never required to disclose unnecessary private information during this initial assessment. No addresses, security schedules, travel itineraries, bank information, or children's records are requested.

The Weekly Family Coordination Calendar™

Each Sunday evening, the host family and assigned au pair establish and document the upcoming week's schedule together. HSBHAPG provides a standardized weekly template so nothing is left to assumption.

Once completed, both the authorized parent/guardian and the au pair acknowledge the schedule electronically. A historical copy of each confirmed week is retained within your family account — reducing misunderstandings and establishing clear, documented expectations.

HSBHAPG recognizes that exceptional caregiving requires appropriate personal time, rest, and separation from professional responsibilities. Clearly defined off-duty periods support the au pair's well-being while preserving intentional private family time for parents and children.

One Designated Self-Care / Rest Day

A full rest day each week, coordinated in advance through the Weekly Family Coordination Calendar™. The specific day may shift according to family needs and is discussed and agreed upon ahead of time.

One Midweek Personal Evening

A designated midweek personal evening beginning at approximately 4:00 PM. Where applicable, an additional second day off may also be coordinated between the family and au pair.

◈ LIVE-IN ARRANGEMENTS

Clear On-Duty & Off-Duty Boundaries

Living within a family's residence does not mean the au pair is continuously on duty. The Weekly Family Coordination Calendar™ distinguishes on-duty from off-duty periods with different visual states — so there is no ambiguity.

ON DUTY

Scheduled working periods coordinated in advance through the Weekly Family Coordination Calendar™. The au pair is engaged, available, and responsible for the agreed childcare and household duties.

OFF DUTY / PERSONAL TIME

Designated rest and personal time. The family respects this period unless a genuine emergency or previously agreed scheduling change occurs. Living within the residence does not mean the au pair is continuously on duty.

◈ PREMIUM OPTIONAL SERVICE

HSBHAPG Relief & Continuity Coverage™

Families may request a second qualified HSBHAPG au pair to provide coverage during the primary au pair's scheduled time off — giving your household continued care without requiring your primary au pair to sacrifice personal time.

Depending on availability and your arrangement, the relief au pair may be an HSBHAPG professional who serves multiple families, or a dedicated additional au pair assigned specifically to your household.

These policies are presented as part of HSBHAPG's professional household coordination and continuity standards. They are not intended as absolute legal claims about work-hour requirements. Employment classification, jurisdiction, placement country or state, applicable wage-and-hour laws, contractual terms, and any applicable au pair or immigration program requirements may impose greater mandatory rest, time-off, scheduling, overtime, or employment protections. Where a jurisdiction or program provides greater mandatory protections, the applicable law or program requirement controls.
